Bulky Trash Haul-Off Dates
(Spring) TBD
(Fall) TBD
Trash
Household trash should be placed in 30 gallon cans with lids and left at the side or back of your house, depending on where you live. Each can, including the contents, shouldn't weigh more than 50 lbs.
Items too large for the trash are picked up twice a year (April and October) at the curb. The exact dates will be announced in the Olmos Park Weekly Email Blast, by postcard via mail and on this Website.
Recycling
Recyclables in Olmos Park bins are picked up at the curb on Wednesdays starting at 7am. Recycling the correct items can be financially beneficial to the city. It isn't necessary to sort recycling. Printable Curbside Recycling Flyer.
Brush
Brush is picked up curbside on Wednesdays only and must not exceed 3" in diameter and 6' in length. All lateral branches should be removed. Brush should be stacked at most 5' high, 5' wide and 10' deep with volume not to exceed 250 cu. ft.
Property owners are responsible for
- removal of stacks of brush exceeding 250 cu. ft.
- removal of cuttings and debris left by commercial tree services.
See City Code for additional information.
Contact City Hall to alert public works that you have brush to be picked up. Your name will be placed on a list so that employees will be on the look out for your brush as they drive through the neighborhood. Please let us know by Tuesday.
Trimmings and leaves should be placed curbside in containers and shouldn't weigh more than 50 pounds.
The City endorses the Don't Bag It program and recommends that you use your leaves and grass for mulch. If you are unable to do so, bags will be picked up at the curb several times a week.
