NOTE: When a Vehicle Registration, Vehicle Inspection or Driver’s License has been expired for LESS than 60 days, the court may dismiss the charge WITH PROOF that the defect was remedied within 20 days and upon payment of a $20.00 Administrative Fee paid to the court on the specified Appearance Date.
NOTE: When a Fail to Display Drivers License, Violate Drivers License Restriction/Endorsement, Operating without License Plates or with One Plate, or Unclean or Obscured License Plate or Operating Vehicle with a Defective Required Equipment has been remedied within 10 days and on payment of a $10 Administrative Fee paid to the court on the on the specified Appearance Date.
DEFERRED DISPOSITION: You may be able to request that this charge be dismissed through the completion of Deferred Disposition (Probation) program IF you have not participated in any Deferred Disposition during the past 12 months (calculated from date of previous dismissal to the date of your current citation). This requires full payment of the fine and a $20.00 Administrative Fee paid to the court on the specified Appearance Date.
DEFENSIVE DRIVING: State Law will allow this type of dismissal for one violation per 12 months. However, only certain moving violations are eligible for this type of dismissal. You may be able to require that this charge be dismissed by taking a driving safety course. However, you will lose that right if you do not FIRST provide written notice to the court on or before your appearance date, of your desire to do so. (Notice must be given by mail on or before your appearance date, or in person on your appearance date) All notices must be accompanied by a plea of guilty or nolo contendere, proof of a valid Texas Driver’s License, proof of liability insurance, and a non-refundable fee of $144.00.
