THE OLMOS PARK CITY COUNCIL ELECTION IS ON MAY 5, 2018.
The First day to file for a place on the ballot for the Olmos Park General Election is Wednesday, January 17, 2018 and the last day to file for a place on the ballot is Friday, February 16, 2018 at 5pm.
The City will have the following two City Council seats and the Mayor position up for re-election, each for a two-year terms:
Place 4 City Council member: Kenyon McDonald (currently sitting in position)
Place 5 City Council member: Casey Fry (currently sitting in position)
Mayor: Ronald Hornberger (currently sitting in position)
The following items will be on the May 5, 2018 Election:
THE REAUTHORIZATION OF THE LOCAL SALES AND USE TAX IN THE CITY OF OLMOS PARK, TEXAS, AT THE RATE OF ONE-FOURTH OF ONE PERCENT TO CONTINUE PROVIDING REVENUE FOR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF MUNICIPAL STREETS. The tax expires on the FOURTH ANNIVERSARY of the date of this election unless the imposition of the tax is reauthorized.
AUTHORIZE THE ADOPTION OF A CEILING OR LIMITATION ON THE CITY AD VALOREM TAX LEVY OF A PERSON WHO IS DISABLED AND A PERSON WHO IS SIXTY-FIVE (65) YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER WHO MAKES APPLICATION FOR AND RECEIVES A HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION.
